Chris Barrett
Managing Director

Chris is the Managing Director in charge of delivering LEPD’s commitment to our clients and has 10+ years of experience in the Construction Industry.

An independent leader within a Project Team who is constantly challenging and directing the various contributors on behalf of the client is crucial for the success of a Project. Chris has the capabilities, knowledge and experience to fulfill this role. His people management skills promotes a culture of accountability and high performance within a Project Team, enabling a flexible and agile approach to risk, as well as a mindset to seek out opportunity and optimise results.

Chris worked with Walls Construction as a Site Engineer for a number of years prior to joining LEPD in 2013, an experience which has given him an excellent understanding of the cut and thrust of the site environment and the challenges it can bring.

He graduated with honours as a Civil Engineer from NUI Galway in 2009, and holds a Masters in Sustainable Energy & Green Technology, which he completed in UCD in 2012.

David Magner
Project Director

In his role as Project Director, David is committed to ensuring the consistent delivery of LEPD standards across each project.

With over 5 years’ experience in the construction industry, David’s valuable learnings from his time in consultancy, contracting and manufacturing industries enable him to bring a strong and well-rounded approach to his roles. He is extremely driven and dedicated, striving to ensure success for our clients by promoting effective communication and the establishment of a collaborative working ethos with all stakeholders.

Prior to joining LEPD, David worked with Turner and Townsend where he played an integral role in the growth of the newly established infrastructure division. Managing regional budgets and schedule forecasts on behalf of the client, the role helped to further enhance his strong cost and project controls skills.

David graduated from NUI Galway in 2014 with an honours degree in Civil Engineering and completed a Master’s in Civil Engineering and Construction Management at Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh in 2017.

PJ Monaghan
Chairman

PJ is the Chairman of LEPD. A quantity surveyor by profession, he worked in General Contracting for the initial 12 years of his career and gained significant insights into the industry. Along with Tommy Murray, PJ formed Leading Edge Project Directors in 2003 and has been at the forefront of Irish Construction and Development since then. PJ was a Director of Clarington Primary Care, an SPV that has delivered 3 multi-tenanted Primary Care Centres totalling over 100,000 sq ft. The property portfolio was successfully sold in 2018 to a UK Healthcare Fund.

PJ plays a key role in developing company strategy and setting the direction of the company’s culture, management practices and innovation. PJ believes a business should have 3 main ingredients – focus, planning and drive.

His knowledge, experience and industry standing can be an extremely valuable asset to any construction project
